Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for effective coordination of the hourly recruitment and onboarding process, resolving employee relations issues, consistently administering HR policies, overseeing the temporary labor program and other projects as assigned.
The successful candidate will also take an active role in promoting a safe, positive culture and work environment by coordinating employee relations activities, safety initiatives, finding solutions to opinion survey results as well as many other HR & safety related activities.
Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Overseeing hourly staffing process by recruiting, coordinating interviews, extending offers of employment, processing new hire paperwork and coordinating new hire orientation and onboarding of all new hires Evaluating and analyzing site compliance to policies and ensuring consistency Consistently applying federal, state and local labor laws Interpreting company policies, training and applying policies safety programs and benefits Processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis and partnering with supervisors to ensure timecards are reviewed and approved Overseeing agency associate program, fill rates, reconciliation of billing, labor reports, etc.
Overseeing leave management program working with employees requesting leave, providing necessary paperwork and leave tracking to include Family and Medical Leave and Disability Serving as point of contact regarding employee benefits and providing resolution/guidance to benefit questions during open/new hire enrollment and thereafter Addressing employee relations concerns in partnership with HR Manager, supervisors and managers Assisting in maintaining working relationship with state agencies such as Unemployment and handles any issues or hearings that require local involvement.
Assisting in keeping current EEO/AAP reports, attendance, disciplinary summary reports, turnover analysis, and analyze other metrics using HRIS systems.
Will take an active partnership role in the safety program at the factory including training, compliance, audits, workers compensation and other duties as assigned Lead efforts to continuously develop and improve the plant I AM Safety Culture, safety initiatives and enhance safety performance Required Competencies & Knowledge:
Knowledge of:
Knowledge and experience with Kronos, MS Office (Word/Excel/Power Point) and Ceridian a plus Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local employment laws Solid understanding of the role of HR in balancing employees and business objectives Some knowledge of Federal/State OSHA regulations Skill in:
Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, ability to be flexible in constantly changing work environment.
Strong generalist background, strong computer skills (MS Office - Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Kronos, Excel), Presenting a variety of HR/Safety related topics in all factory settings Ability to:
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Successfully multi-task and juggle multiple priorities with varying timelines Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and as part of a team Ensure positive and collaborative relationships with industry, trade, other associations, regulatory agencies and Hearthside employees Lead 'best in class' behaviors with focus on safety, quality, and policy application Ability to deescalate situations and take a non-confrontational approach to resolving them Work effectively with all levels of the organization Meet timelines and drive results appropriately and professionally Proficiency in:
MS Office Suite, Kronos, and Excel; ADP/Kronos a plus Work Environment:
Work is primarily done in an office setting.
Must be willing to visit night shifts to ensure positive employee relations across departments and shifts occur Will frequent production environment which includes exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting at a work station for extended periods of time Stand, walk, climb stairs on an infrequent basis Must be able to lift 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Safety, or related Business field or combination of education and experience.
1 or more years HR/Safety experience supervising and managing a high-performance ISO or World Class Manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and TMS a plus PHR or SPHR certification a plus Spanish speaking is a plus! Safety & Environmental:
Employee shall follow factory safety & environmental objectives and targets; follow the plant safety rules, report incidents and near misses immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and take personal ownership of the Safety in their area - to include the safety of visitors and contractors.
The employee will also take action to reduce negative environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water and will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.
) Quality:
Employees shall follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets; follow Hearthside Good Manufacturing Practices, report food safety and quality issues immediately and maintain compliance with regulations.
The employee will also understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
