7 Quick Apply Full-time 3 hours ago Full Job Description Maintenance Technician, commonly referred to as Craftsman - Mechanic - Gibson City, IL As a General Mechanic, the incumbents will be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery at the site.
Incumbents will be responsible for piping systems and mechanical equipment within the manufacturer's specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing equipment.
The incumbents will also improve reliability/uptime through participation in improving asset performance and maintenance strategy.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conform to plant safety and environmental requirements, accepting responsibility for personal safety Work in, and comply with, cGMP guidelines Implement emergency procedures as necessary Perform housekeeping in the work area to maintain site safety standards Perform safety hazard assessments prior to initiating work to insure elimination of hazards Complete Tag, Lock, Clear and Try (TLCT) procedure on machines to assure equipment is inoperable and safe to work on Ability to work in a team environment and communication with other employees using multiple methods of communication Understand and participate in maintenance reliability programs and processes.
Participate in development of maintenance work schedule outlook, including all upcoming major equipment shutdown and overhauls Read and interpret pipe and valve code manuals, piping and instrument drawings, isometric and orthographic drawings and electronic prints and repair procedures.

Are related to the accomplishment of tasks Utilizes skills acquired by experience, observation, or study Allows use of all equipment and tools associated with all craftsmen, after verification Utilize computer and administrative skills for feedback to various maintenance systems utilizing current CMMS, or as directed by management Assist other area mechanics as needed to complete tasks Where applicable, perform all tasks to the journeyman standard Participate in continued training as required by management to upgrade/ refresh current maintenance and craft skills Record history, by providing documentation for updating information (history) in SAP in order to maintain equipment records.
Maintain a high degree of motivation by being flexible, having good organizational skills, and being able to prioritize and make informed decisions to meet business requirements Job Requirements The following are required:
High School Diploma/GED 2
years of relevant experience/education in industrial plant maintenance, a maintenance apprenticeship, the military, a relevant journeyman field, or other related role Knowledge of rotating machinery, bearings and seals Ability to use all equipment in maintenance shop such as power tools, saws, impact wrenches, grinders, etc.
Proficient with computers and programs, including Microsoft Office Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hardhat, Nomex clothing, protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing, rubber acid suits, Respirex hoods and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) Willing and able to:
lift or move up to 50 lbs.
; climb stairs, ladders, and columns; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, utilize visual acuity, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms Willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions Willing and able to work around hazardous materials Willing and able to work overtime as required This is a day shift role.
However, candidates must be willing and able to occasionally work differential shifts as needed The following are preferred:
Certification to operate and/or inspect a crane or hoist Relevant Journeyman License Welding experience Experience with SAP (or similar CMMS systems) Experience working in cGMP facility Job Type:
